Pilot Progression Ratings and Training
To assist pilots in continuing their skills and progression into higher pilot certification, we can offer either one on one or small group coaching, either by the hour or half day rates.
This is ideal for newly licensed PG2 pilots to improve their ground handling, skills, increase their airtime and progress quickly.
The PG 3 pilot wanting to learn and improve their soaring & top landing skills, the PG4 looking to progress into XC and PG5 and for PG 5 to progress into Tandem pilot & instructor.
Pilot Progression is as follows:

PG1 – Student

PG2 – newly licensed pilot

PG3 – needs VHF endorsement, PG3 flight skills/test and Log Book Check

PG4 – Theory exam – PG 4 Flight skills/test, Log Book Check, XC endorsement complete
(12 months from PG3)

PG5 – Theory exam – PG5 Flightskills/test, Log Book check (12 months from PG4)
Pilot Requirements
- Pilots must be licensed SAFA members
- Pilots must read and complete the SkyOut safety brief with all criteria met
Equipment Required
- Well-maintained & certified Paraglider, Harness & parachute
- Paragliding helmet
- Protective eye wear (clear goggle type or sun glasses)
